HART Australia in partnership with HART UK and its local partners is working to alleviate the impacts of the escalating conflict on persecuted ethnic and religious minorities in Burma, many of whom have sought refuge along the border of neighbouring Thailand.  HART is raising funds to support displaced children, who bear some of the worst consequences of the military’s campaign of terror, many suffering from mental health issues and the psychosocial impacts from witnessing or experiencing violence and the physical and emotional effects of being displaced.  HART is working with the Loi Tai Leng School to provide students with much needed relief and rehabilitation services, stipends, food security as well as vitamins and de-worming tablets.

“HART is not just ‘another aid organisation’. We are distinctive in that we combine aid with advocacy, working for peoples suffering from oppression, exploitation and persecution who are generally not served by major aid organisations and are off the radar screen of international media” Caroline (Baroness) Cox
